Berger - Linzer Tart "Linzertörtli"
A true tradition: a hazelnut pastry filled with delicious raspberry jam, complemented with cinnamon and other spices.
The Linzer Torte is said to be the oldest cake in the world. For a long time a recipe from 1696 in the Vienna Stadt- und Landesbibliothek was the oldest one known. The invention of the Linzer Torte is subject of numerous legends, reporting on a Viennese confectioner named Linzer or the Franconian pastry chef Johann Konrad Vogel, who about 1823 at Linz started the mass production of the cake that made it famous around the world.
For more than 100 years, the name Berger has stood for fine enjoyment from the Swiss bakery. The uncompromising focus on quality as well as the likeable and independent appearance of the brand makes Berger the Swiss expert in the field of sweet small baked goods.
