Grape variety: Merlot, Arinarnoa, Tannat, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Gamaret, Egiodola, Marselan, Syrah, Carminoir, Carmenere
Provenance: Hilly areas of Mendrisiotto
Color: Purplish red tending to purple
Bouquet: Aromatic, spicy, particularly reminiscent of thyme. Good complexity and elegance
Taste: Spicy long and persistent. It has a good aromatic richness supported by an important structure and a well integrated tannicity
Alcoholic strength: 13 Vol. %
Aging: Over 10 years
Vinification: The vines are harvested and vinified separately. After 20, 30 days of maceration, the malolactic fermentation and the subsequent 20 months of aging take place in barriques of French origin. The final blending takes place only before bottling
Serving temperature: It is advisable to serve at 18° C
Recommendations: Important first courses, red- and game meats, as well as strong cheeses
The estate, mentioned in scripts from the 1800s, give account of an important vinery in the region, was brought back to its original utilization in 1981. Following the acquisition the re-planting of the grapes started, at first in the traditional method of the region. Soon the passion of the owner, Mr. Meinrad C. Perler, for experimentation and innovation set foot in the "Tenimento dellOr” winery. 11 hectares of vines on a hill in Arzo, canton of Ticino, which is perfectly exposed to the sun.
